I have been making Victorian-style rocking horses for over 20 years and have experience teaching. Initially, I had no one to guide me, so I relied on pictures, my imagination, and determination. Many people of all skill levels have asked me to teach this unique craft, so I am now offering two classes in my shop. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, I’m here to share my knowledge and help you make your own rocking horse. I'm confident you'll enjoy the process!

3 Day Head Carving Class
Learn how to carve a Traditional rocking horse head. This 3 day course will cover everything you need to know on how to carve a head for a rocking horse. This course includes the wood blank that will be cut out and ready for you to carve. Students are required to bring your own carving tools.. Because of the size of my shop, space will be limited to 3 students so reserve your spot now.
* Note - The carving course does not include nor cover Bow rocker or Safety stand building. This course also does not cover or include painting your horse. The goal of the workshop is to provide the student with enough knowledge, in 3 days, to be able to complete the project at their own pace and at their own facility.
5 Day Carving Class
Learn how to carve a medium Traditional rocking horse. This 5 day course will cover everything you need to know on how to carve the body of a medium rocking horse. This course includes the wood blank that will be cut out and ready for you to carve. Students are required to bring your own carving tools. Because of the size of my shop, space will be limited to 3 students so reserve your spot now.
